Announcing the Insults challenge: stories containing unintended or deliberate insults, and the fallout from them. Start with "the most annoying man on earth" or "freak" and work your way up. How does Fraser deliver an insult without losing his cool? Or what happens when a perp starts dissing the Mountie -- what's a cop to do? Anyone could be on the giving or receiving end -- Frannie, Gardino, Dewey, or Turnbull to name the most likely supporting-character suspects. How does the insultee react?

It's October 10 -- stories are due by midnight, October 24, Chicago time.
