Movie challenge

Home movies are movies, right? And Ray only has the one home movie that matters, but even Dief got sick of watching it after a year or so. I told him he could have a hundred words, and this is what he said:



I discovered my favorite thing about the kid when we were packing videotapes, and I realized David had never seen my homer. Turned out he'd never seen baseball, period. I went through the whole inning, play by play, til he was as excited as me when I hit that ball.

I looked up and Fraser was watching us, and that's when I knew why I put up with all the lost sleep and screaming.

Because that's my favorite thing about the kid: the way Ben smiled, and shook his head, and sat down to tell him how it really happened.

that's my favorite thing about the fic: the way is shows how the kid affects ben and how much ray loves it.

I love how a drabble shows so much in such a little space. You never once use the word love and yet that's what this story is all about. Wonderful!

OMG, have just reread this for the umpteenth time and I wish you would write more. I love this story. Fraser needs to get over his reticence and David needs to relax. I'd love to see that happen where hugs were given by all at any time.

I assume you arrived here after reading "Tea for Three" and the kidfic WIP this is related to (for a moment I thought "...she's just been rereading the drabble?" *g*), but I'm afraid I am well and thoroughly out of Due South and past this story. You'll just have to imagine the rest!
