ADMIN POST: The Fraser Whomping Challenge
Feb. 27th, 2004 01:43 pmThis one was technically suggested by
resonant8 but inspired by a story by
kormantic where the two Rays throw Fraser out a window (in the nicest possible way, of course.) Hence, the art of "Fraser-whomping" was born.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it? Whomp Fraser. Anything from the gentlest of friendly punches to the shoulder to relatively serious hurt/comfort will be accepted. (Try to stay within or near-within the violence parameters of the show, which does give us a couple of bad beatings but doesn't go into horror [ < snark > or religious < /snark >] movie territory, ok?)
It's Friday by my watch; stories will be due next Friday at midnight. (Note icon of imminent whomping!! *g*)

Perhaps this one will galvanize people to post. We seem to have fewer entries lately than we used to -- are we getting tired, do you think? Though people seem more inclined to post 1000-word stories than 200-word vignettes, which wasn't necessarily true when we started, so maybe the overall fiction content remains steady...

Date: 2004-02-27 12:09 pm (UTC)Well, I think it's a couple of things--people are busier in the winter, and there's been Yuletide and Escapade and such. But there's always a pretty steady stream of stories here, and yes, they really aren't the "drabbles" that most communities produce--which is why I don't see DS_Flashfiction as taking our attention away from longer stories: these are pretty long stories in themselves! *g* Personally I can say that I'm not tired, though I have been so busy that I'm way behind on reading and feeding back Flashfiction, so I'm assuming that other people, like me, are just busy with other things. My feeling is, we keep pumping along, and it's here if people feel up for it any given week.
