Using my amazing adminstrative POWAH, I'm bumping
vienna_waits's recently proposed challenge to the top of the list, partly because it's so good, and partly because Vienna is pretty much the only Billy Joel song I can stand my favorite Billy Joel song.
Here's the challenge: At least one character has to be somewhere you wouldn't expect to see him/her (i.e., Fraser sunbathing at a nude beach on Lake Michigan, Welsh just about anywhere other than the 27th, Ray Vecchio at a yoga class, Turnbull at an academic conference, etc.)
Today's Tuesday; challenge responses are due in two weeks, on March 29th at midnight!

Date: 2005-03-16 12:04 am (UTC)I'd blame nude, sunbathing Fraser, but I don't think that equation adds up right.

Date: 2005-03-16 01:57 am (UTC)I wouldn't discourage this, though, nosiree bob! (Damn, now I'm thinking about naked Bob...)

Date: 2005-03-17 03:46 pm (UTC)And Ces knows where my name came from! It is amazing what's taken here on LJ; it was about the 50th name I tried and I was getting desperate. I do lurve me some BJ, though, particularly his older stuff. And "Vienna" is my absolute favorite song of his.
I'm still mulling over some ideas, but I'm pretty sure there won't be any naked Bob in my story. Or naked Welsh. Although that could be very funny if done properly.

Date: 2005-03-23 12:08 am (UTC)Let me put it this way; by posting to DS_Flashfiction you've got the attention of a DS audience. Is there enough DS content in your story that that isn't abusing their attention? If you think there is, yes, please do post. If it's really not DS or only of minor interest to a DS-primary audience, don't.

Really, need I go further with this? *g* (As a child, as a teenager, at the depot, as an adult... !)

Date: 2005-03-27 04:19 pm (UTC)two challenge suggestions. Some sort of 'dirty' challenge (people get dirty, talk dirty, dirty cops, etc) and also, how about a challenge where the writing *style* is the challenge. like, the story can be anything, but it has to be written as a fairy tale, or a fable, or in the tone of a film noir story, etc.

Date: 2005-04-06 01:02 am (UTC)also, dude, what I would also LOVE is a Vecchio challenge. Any type of story, het, gen, set during the show, post show, Vecchio in Vegas - anything, as long as it's Vecchio-centric.
*smiles and bats eyelashes*
