I realize I'm obnoxiously overposting here, but I'm about to leave town for a week. Anyway, this can be blamed on Janne's charming "It Takes Two" - what a great challenge, and I think this does technically fit. With apologies to WH Auden.

Fraser/RayK, 250 words.

I did actually write this at the time of the challenge - I can't remember why I never posted it, I think because I wasn't sure it really fitted the challenge and then I got distracted.

Since I just found the thing again, here it is (unbetaed I'm afraid):

We took a second look at the Double-Take Challenge and called it quits. But you can read the 18 challenge entries archived here.

I guess I'm on a roll. Another experimental little snippet from the Regency AU.

Apparently I have a RayKMuse. Who dragged me out of bed at 2am in the hope that writing this down would make him shut up so I could sleep. Plus he's quite chatty, so I'm blaming him for my being over the word count (approx 1900 total). And also for the deterioration in my ability to punctuate (which Regina kindly attempted to sort out for me, any mistakes/insane sentences left are unfortunately mine.)

Title: Satisfies the Soul
Word Count: 1,414. Er. Slightly over there. Oops.
Pairing: RayK, Fraser; preslash if you squint a bit.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dayse for telling me that I wasn't off base and it was funny. Her squinty, mIRC beta jobs are the best. ;) Also, thank you to the Dead Kennedys for writing Too Drunk to Fuck. Which was the working title for this fic before it stopped um. being about that.

While trying to think of an idea for this challenge, to place a character somewhere you wouldn't expect to see them, I started thinking about whose expectations we're dealing with, and how those expectations get created. Well, conventions, clichés, and the like breed expectations, and that thought bred this piece--in all its silliness. :)

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] eruthros for the beta help!

Don't really know where this came from ... I'm not 100% happy with it, I think it needs some work, but I got fed up with looking at it so thought I'd post it - any advice desperately craved!
My very first piece of flashfic, please be kind!

580 words of mild F/K. Wow, this is really scary, I've gone all weak at the elbows. (I mean posting this is scary, the ficlet isn't at all. I hope.)

Apologies if I do this wrong, I've only had lj for 3 days. Checked for egregious errors by the kind and lovely Regina.

Thanks to a comment from [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza, this is not the story that originally came to mind after misreading the "double-take" challenge. Many, many thanks.

Thanks as well to [livejournal.com profile] minnow1212 for the beta on these 1,392 words of PG-13 F/K.

Using my amazing adminstrative POWAH, I'm bumping [livejournal.com profile] vienna_waits's recently proposed challenge to the top of the list, partly because it's so good, and partly because Vienna is pretty much the only Billy Joel song I can stand my favorite Billy Joel song.

Here's the challenge: At least one character has to be somewhere you wouldn't expect to see him/her (i.e., Fraser sunbathing at a nude beach on Lake Michigan, Welsh just about anywhere other than the 27th, Ray Vecchio at a yoga class, Turnbull at an academic conference, etc.)

Today's Tuesday; challenge responses are due in two weeks, on March 29th at midnight!

Here's my entry. It's the first time I've been on time enough to submit (actually it's first DS fullstop). Please forgive me if it's awful. (I can't believe I've written that) I hope you enjoy it.

It's post COTW, does that help some?
