I'm not sure if I'll ever be happy again after reading this -- it was just that devastating. My poor, poor Fraser. Gut-wrenching. I had to gorge myself on mindless fluff after I finished.
Oh no! But just think, what are the odds of Fraser getting amnesia and disappearing in the frozen north for two years? Seriously. This is a most unlikely tale of doom. :)
So glad to have devastated you that it worked for you. Thank you! *beam*
What can I say -- I have a wild and rarely rational imagination. Someone could probably write a tale of Fraser being abducted by aliens and returned to Chicago after two years and I'd be all *sob* and *grief* and *angst* just the same :) Amnesia, by contrast, seems much more plausible!
here via crack_van - raveninthewind led me into the Ray/Ray and I followed this rec to this story of yours and - just *inarticulate awe*. The Fraser parts - beginning and end, and RayV - willing to be cheated upon if that meant he could keep RayK, sure he'd be lost without RayK and sure that Fraser would be fine - and Fraser, hurt, but essentially fine, in the end.
And RayK not wanting to chose, but chosing in the end...
uh, basically? wow. Thanks for the post, thanks for the link for quick feedback so I can embarass myself publically with babble...
How did I miss this one??! This hurts at the cellular level, and yet I can't see any other way to end this. Asolutely, painfully, wonderful. And now I have to go read something happy...
I love pain fic! (no, really). This is very courageous, and I'll go as far as to say fitting. Fraser is a consummate hero, and the reality is that the hero never gets the guy or girl.
