Title: Deep Colours Bleed
Author: [livejournal.com profile] qe2
Team: Reality
Prompt: "You are not bringing that thing anywhere near me."
Pairing(s): F/K/V
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 5,000
Warnings: Serious character illness
Author's Notes: Thanks in extremis to, in alphabetical order, Mondschein, Nos4a2no9, and SecretlyBronte. What they didn't make me fix probably couldn't be saved.
Summary: I know they'll do this for me. One of them will, anyway—and where one of them goes, the other one always follows. Eventually, and bitching all the way, but it's pretty much inevitable.

Title: Immovable Forces

Team: Romance
Prompt: “That's because you're not pushing hard enough.”
Pairing(s): Fraser/Kowalski
Length: 3,100 words
Rating: NC-17

Author's note: Thanks - in ascending order of importance - to Hewlett Packard, Little Penguin Shiraz, and the irreplaceable [livejournal.com profile] slidellra for helping me get this thing (1) written, let alone (2) in (barely) on time. Remaining mistakes should be blamed on someone entirely other.
Summary: I am, after all, no saint. Nor, thank God, am I partnered with one.

For [livejournal.com profile] aerye and [livejournal.com profile] dsudis, who laughed when I broached it and who both had lousy yesterdays. (The shout-out to the Patsies is for [livejournal.com profile] superlibe, who will, I'm sure, forgive my forcing them to play a punk club in Chicago before they were actually born.) The lovely [livejournal.com profile] lynnmonster beat me about the head and shoulders with her talented Wand of Betaness (not quite as dirty as it sounds, more’s the pity). One or two of the best bits owe their lives to her; any remaining mistakes are all mine. Appearances notwithstanding, no italics were harmed in the making of this flashfic.

Somewhere around R, I should think. K/F, as ever. Should probably have a warning, but the warning it should probably have would give the end away. Hopefully it'll suffice to say that this is about as far from true h/c as one can possibly get, and that - barring unforeseen circumstances - everyone involved survives. And it does fit the challenge, I promise...

On the one hand, it is so not 21 November any more in my part of the world.

On the other hand, Ces hasn't called time on the challenge yet.

::gulps and posts::

Unbetaed, because I did not get my act together in time for the tremendous and outspoken [livejournal.com profile] estrella30 to get hold of it and make it better. Blame me for everything.

ETA: Kowalski/Vecchio. Probably R, although I have a little trouble with the gradations between "safe for the kiddies" and "omgtheyaresototallydoingit", so YMMV.

Dedicated to Aerye, whom I seem to enjoy teasing... )

Mea culpa to the max, y'all, because damn, this thing is long. Betaed by the splendid and bodacious [livejournal.com profile] estrella30, who totally blew off work sacrificed her precious time on the job to do a lightning-fast yet still thoroughly kickass readthrough. I'm thinking of cloning her. It is absolutely 107.3% not her fault that this is. um. PG-for-language-please-Hammer-don't-hurt-me-I-promise-lots-of-sex-and-no-plot-to-speak-of-next-time-kthxbye.

Ray asked for exotic. He wound up in Ohio. Such is life.

Thanks owed to the following luminaries, sages, and other professional thinking persons: [livejournal.com profile] pearl_o, whose fertile brain threw out the image that got this ficlet started; [livejournal.com profile] brooklinegirl, who very kindly allowed me to borrow said image; and, as ever, the amazing and creative [livejournal.com profile] estrella30, beta to the max. Anything you don't like, she couldn't make me fix.

Any Minute Now )

Second-time story (mine, not theirs).

I had an entirely different tale in mind, but it refused to be written (possibly because its informing sin was Sloth) and insisted I tell this one instead. Being as how "piss the Muse off at your peril" is the second half of my family motto, I acceded with as much grace as I could muster. (Ow.)

[livejournal.com profile] estrella30, uber-beta to the stars as well as to a few of us lesser mortals, beat this up for me like the rocking thing she is. (You enjoyed it, didn't you, you wench.) That one phrase? Not her fault: I was too attached to it for my own good.

The sin in question is Pride.
