Mendacity Challenge (Amnesty)

That was so fun the first time that I had to try it again. And thanks again to the welcome wagon! This one is post-COTW.

New challenge right behind this one.

Mendacity Challenge & Flashfic debut

So this is my flashfiction and DS debut. Actually I have a drabble I wrote for something else out there, I'm saving it in case the right theme ever comes up. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] the_star_fish and [livejournal.com profile] rainbow_goddess for betaing this.

Mendacity Challenge - Keys

Just under the wire, I hope (but only because the wire stretches pretty well). About 1290 words. It’s been sitting on my hard drive for awhile, but I realized it fit the challenge so away it goes. Angst city, but there you have it.

Mendacity Challenge: The Space Between

(witchbaby, screeching in at the last minute, per usual)

So I don't usually do this. Write like this, I mean. But my tiny little writer's group was working on an exercise in writing in all dialogue and I was late with my assignment for the group, as well as for the Mendacity challenge, so I figured two birds, one stone, and this is what came of it. And I'm under the word limit! For the very first time! (587 words, to be exact).

Huge thanks to my faithful beta reader SnowFlake, for her 2AM insta-beta of this particular little story. Don't know what I'd do without her!

dreams and lies

Translator's note:

This was posted last Saturday to LCV705 in Japanese, by a new author who is getting better and better. As it also accidentally fit into this week's challenge, I couldn't help but translate it. This piece was a shock to us, coming from someone who usually writes very sweet stories, but you see, we're at the end of S2 now. The author's note, "You can't just leave Fraser alone, Ray!" says it all to us.

Huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] imkalena and Santa Sato for beta and readthroughs, as well as, of course, the author herself! --Sakana

Three Great Lies

A woman I used to work with about 15 years ago told me about the Three Great Lies of the Universe. So, a variation on some themes at 999 words.

you ain't lying

actually, it's 555 words, mostly not about lies. but hey, read it anyway. maybe i'm lying about that.

Smiling Faces Sometimes

Hey, I'm still working on that Body Switch story I started back here weeks ago. It just occurred to me this morning that I had an excerptable scene that fits the challenge... because who knows more about lying than an undercover guy in the ultimate undercover role, right?

All the setup you need for the story is: much to his surprise Ray woke up in Fraser's bed. Unlike how he'd always pictured it, Fraser isn't there, because he's across town, waking up in Ray's bed... in Ray's body. Hilarity ensues (or so the author hopes) and Ray learns that being Canadian is not as easy as it appears....

where's the lie? where'd the lie go? uh-oh ... the lie's gone! ... oh, there you are.

Teeny, tiny little lie in this one ... bonus points if you're actually able to find it. This was written in about half an hour, I don't usually write from Fraser's POV, and I didn't edit it at all, so blame the weirdness on all those factors.

To Make a Long Story Short

I was experimenting with how much story I could tell in as few words as possible since I’m typing one handed at the moment. Since I don’t do haiku, this one comes in at 441 words.

Honesty

Not sure why I used this format, but it felt right. Managed to get it in two words under the limit. )

OMG! *Dies*

I am spazzing that I all of a sudden just spit out my *first* Due South fic! My First fic period in months! *spazzes*!!! And it's even a challenge-response!! I have no idea where this came from, but please be gentle! It's my first! And It's a *Slash* Fraser/RayK, and I am mostly a Fraser/Vecchio gal, so this is freaky for me!

"Lie" challenge

Okay, this is silly and pointless, but it involves a lie of sorts, so I guess it fits. :-) It's somewhere around 300 words.
