When I posted my first story on ds-flashfiction in December 2005, I resolved to reply to every challenge Cesperanza would upload in 2006. I failed. I missed six. Fortunately, there are Amnesty challenges (and thankfully, Ces is very easy with deadlines). I decided to use Amnesty 2006 to write a story that would at once address the six challenges I missed.

It is a seven part fic. The first and the last part aren’t challenge related; they are the wraps that enhance the coherence of the story (I hope). Parts 2 to 5 address five of the six challenges. With regard to the OC challenge I cut myself some slack. Strictly speaking, there is no Other Character is this fic. Many stories have featured this character, and his pov has been done before as well. Never by me, however, so to me he is in a way an OC.

Yeah, so, with Paulie he didn’t have to watch what he said like with Stella and her friends, but at least now he’s not talking through a mouthful of mud.

Mainly because it's that time of year, and half of you are in finals, and the other half of you are grading finals, and the third half of you are wondering WTF it's so quiet around fandom right now--I am giving into to

brooklinegirl's desire for a school challenge. BLG wants "high school" in particular ("It could be AU: have them as teachers, or Fraser as a transfer student, or RAY as a transfer student up north, or whatever. OR it could just be them - stories about either Ray in high school, or Fraser, or, hell, WELSH in high school. You know?") but I'm going to open it to any kind of school-going experience--grammar, college, automobile repair, Depot, adult education--whatever.

Today's Sunday May 6th--stories wll be due May 21st at midnight.
