Title: Five Times Ray Kowalski Was Ashamed of His Dick and One Time He Wasn't
Author:
j_s_cavalcante
Team: Reality
Prompt: I never said they were poisonous.
Pairing(s): Fraser/Kowalski, (Kowalski/Stella)
Rating: NC-17
Word count: 22,600 words
Warnings: Some brief scenes concern issues of teen sexuality and development (ages 14-17), frankly depicted.
Author's Notes: Reality, comin' atcha. A number of real-life incidents are woven into this story. I'm not telling exactly where. :)
Many thanks to my brilliant, stalwart, and ever-encouraging friend (and Team Reality Captain),
nos4a2no9. I am grateful for her savvy insta-beta of this story. But she did more than beta this project. She husbanded it. For nearly two years, she has aided and abetted my probably unhealthy fascination with RayK's generous male endowments and my exploration of same in both fiction and art. I therefore dedicate this piece to her. Nos? This (big) one's for you. ;)
Summary: Uncovering the root of Ray Kowalski's self-esteem issues. ;)

Date: 2008-10-25 04:45 am (UTC)But can I just take a minute for fangirl squee that there is a marvelous epic story ENTIRELY ABOUT RAY'S GIANT DICK?!? *SQUUUEEEEEEE!!!!!*
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I can't tell you how *I* squealed when I saw that comment, because it was the best thing ever. Obviously, I agree with you that it was one of the unplumbed depths of F/K fic. Emphasis on "depths," probably. :)
And, haha, "Mystery Author." Riiiight.
I was laughing at myself quite a lot for doing this, because, really, 21,600 words all about Ray's enormous cock? Who else would even do that? I knew I was hardly incognito, but the team said to go for it, so...what the heck. :)
I loved your comment so, so much. Thank you!

Date: 2008-10-25 04:48 am (UTC)About Fraser, hee! Practicing! The image that conjures up! (Remember him with the lightbulb in his mouth? Sheesh, you know what that means? It means I have a photo reference. *cough*)
But then again, Fraser's good at all sorts of things he has never actually done, remember? It's canonical reality, if not that believable vis a vis real life. :)
Thank you so much for the lovely and, er, thought-provoking comment. :)

Date: 2008-10-25 04:52 am (UTC)Thanks for letting me know which was the unreadable scene for you.
I hear you. Yes, there's a lot of realism in that scene, and it makes sense it would be tough to read for some people, on some days, etc. Thanks for what you said, though. I appreciate that so much. Evoking emotions is exactly what I'm trying to do.
Hee, about the Ultimate Meal. My green swamp juice is called Exsula, but, yeah, same idea. Tastes wonderful in orange juice (the premium not-from-concentrate kind). And looks vile and possibly sentient. Hee! I love that description.
Thank you again. :)

Date: 2008-10-25 04:58 am (UTC)Oh, God, me, too. *shudders*
nice evidence that yes, This Ray grew out of That One (which, oh dear, given the subject matter looks more salacious than I meant it to).
HEE!!!! Yup, it sure did. :)
Thank you so much for the lovely (and humorous) comment! \o/

Date: 2008-10-25 05:04 am (UTC)My love for him just increased, if such a thing is possible. Which I doubt.
Thank you so much for saying that! Because that is just about my favorite comment to read and my favorite to write, as well. If my story made you love Ray more then it is a success. \o/
Ach! This is brilliant. I love the scenes as teenages, because they're so real - terribly awkward and sometimes sweet but mostly awful and embarrassing,
I know! Even before that stage, even in middle school. My kids are going through the beginnings of that crap, and my heart aches for them.
and I love Fraser and Ray just working together - I think 'Because they understood each other without having to explain much of anything' is my favourite line.
Aw, thank you. It's a guy thing, I think, right? There is great relief in not having to explain...not the same attitude toward explanations that women generally have, right? :)
Thank you so much for this comment, which made my week! I want every reader to come away loving RayK at least a little bit more. \o/

Date: 2009-05-20 12:10 am (UTC)That was awesome! Greatness! And other good words too.
I just loved Fraser's reasoning for how he knew Ray liked men. SO TRUE! :D
