Rating: NC-17
Word count: 22,600 words
Warnings: Some brief scenes concern issues of teen sexuality and development (ages 14-17), frankly depicted.
Author's Notes: Reality, comin' atcha. A number of real-life incidents are woven into this story. I'm not telling exactly where. :)
Many thanks to my brilliant, stalwart, and ever-encouraging friend (and Team Reality Captain), [livejournal.com profile] nos4a2no9. I am grateful for her savvy insta-beta of this story. But she did more than beta this project. She husbanded it. For nearly two years, she has aided and abetted my probably unhealthy fascination with RayK's generous male endowments and my exploration of same in both fiction and art.  I therefore dedicate this piece to her.  Nos? This (big) one's for you. ;)
Summary: Uncovering the root of Ray Kowalski's self-esteem issues. ;)

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this -- I did not forget you, I promise! It just looked that way. Um.

What I skipped over, I think, was the awkward first time with Ray and Stella. Combination of my mind set that day, a general aversion to reading het, and ou being very very good at evoking emotions. I was just feeling too much for both of them, and so I... moved down a bit, and kept reading there.

based in part on green-swamp-juice vitamin stuff that I drink

Hee! It made me think of Ultimate Meal powder, which is quite tasty in a banana smoothie, but looks vile (and possibly sentient). So, snap!

S'okay. It's taken me weeks to get back here and finish replying to all the comments.

Thanks for letting me know which was the unreadable scene for you.

I hear you. Yes, there's a lot of realism in that scene, and it makes sense it would be tough to read for some people, on some days, etc. Thanks for what you said, though. I appreciate that so much. Evoking emotions is exactly what I'm trying to do.

Hee, about the Ultimate Meal. My green swamp juice is called Exsula, but, yeah, same idea. Tastes wonderful in orange juice (the premium not-from-concentrate kind). And looks vile and possibly sentient. Hee! I love that description.

Thank you again. :)
